The Right Thing: The Abe Bolden Petition

The story of Abraham Bolden, the first African American on the Secret Service’s White House Detail, is unforgettable. Bolden realized that John F. Kennedy was in danger from his own right-wing, racist Secret Service agents, said so, and was horribly punished. He was railroaded on trumped-up criminal charges, then put into forced psychiatric incarceration.

Over the years, the truth has gradually come out, though, and Bolden, now 78, is beginning to be accorded the honor and respect he deserves.

The latest move in the rehabilitation of Bolden’s reputation is a petition to have his false conviction expunged from the record. That petition can be found here.

For more on Bolden’s story, see this video we posted back in May. For more on the Secret Service, see this, and for more on presidential security, see this.

Oh, and did we mention there’s a petition for Bolden? There is, here.

Someday we will know all of the truth…
    oh,and pigs may fly…

There are two typographical errors in the petition. The last sentence is not complete, and the word “above” appears to be incorrect in one place and should be “about.”

No point in telling us. Go to the petition site and notify them.

thanks Russ. An amazing story of a man up against so much and yet could see the dark clouds gathering around JFK. Must have been one of the few people in US not surprised on 11/22/63.
    No brainer….petition signed!

      Agree.

“They” would have eventually gotten to JFK even if Bolden’s warnings had been heeded. If not Dallas then some other campaign stop, or……..a plane with a defective engine.

If the Kennedy hit was a coup, just when, precisely, did the intrepid junta relinquish power? I am merely pointing out that anointing the excellent Mr Bolden fails to address the fundamental issue, and instead tends to deflect attention from the glaringly signal point – that a fascist coup took over Policy, and seems to continue in that role to-day. Perhaps there ought to be a petition to ask the junta to confess and retire.

There are only 469 signatures to date. That is a poor showing, and we can do WAY BETTER than that! Please send to all you can. We CAN DO THIS! Mr. Bolden deserves our support. It may be late, but a little just about now will make a difference! Please SIGN and SHARE! Thank you!

      “just” should read justice above.
